The Mission
EmpowHer Resilience was created as a website for girls to have free, simplified, and accessible resources to support and motivate their mental skills training and understand that while adversity may be inevitable, one always has the strength and aptitude to build and elevate their resilience. A 2024 poll describes that girls' confidence drops 30% between ages 8 and 14 and girls who say they are not allowed to fail rises 150% between ages 12 and 13. This data emphasizes the pressure girls put on themselves from a very young age and helps depict how girls frequently begin to feel less empowered, strong, and positive as they reach their teenage years. The drop in confidence young girls frequently experience has become evident; however, it has also been demonstrated that support and resources can help girls reclaim their optimism and self esteem. This website includes a list of powerful resources and stories of strength from individuals who have faced and grown from their hardships; the "Stories of Strength" page is updated over time with new information aimed to inspire and bring you joy, hope and excitement towards taking steps to reaching your full potential. Change happens over time, and the goal of EmpowHer Resilience is to take small steps towards teaching others to recognize that challenges may occur, but one has the aptitude to feel prepared and ready to face adversity knowing they have the strength, courage and power to overcome hardships.
Supporting the community: A primary goal is distributing the pamphlet to schools and community organizations that promote female empowerment and/or mental wellness, and I love getting to provide free workshops/presentations with youth groups. I always welcome and am very enthusiastic about hearing from community members who may want to share a motivational story about your experience cultivating resilience or recommend a research-based article for review and consideration that may offer helpful strategies to our community of readers. Disclaimer: EmpowHer Resilience resources are intended to offer free and accessible supplemental tools to promote and strengthen resilience, but they are not a suitable replacement for clinical treatment or diagnostic assessment for mental health concerns. If indicated, you are encouraged to please contact your primary care provider or a licensed mental health practitioner for individualized medical and/or counseling support.
